Patiently waiting

—

I am a patient. And I am waiting. But, these two do not add up to ‘patiently waiting’. That, my friends, is a fact. When a dog is in a waiting room to be seen by the Cardiologist in a Veterinary Clinic it is Pandemonium, Havoc, Chaos and much more. What it’s not is Patiently Waiting.

Sitting still for exactly 1.37 seconds, a new Personal Record

Although I was able to sit still for exactly 1.37 seconds (which is by the way, a new Personal Record) so the Big Boss could take my picture (see left), I got so extremely nervous that I tried to escape and I yanked the leash as hard as I could. Only the freshly polished Linoleum prevented me from taking a runner and elope which was impossible anyway since the sliding doors were a one way system. Misbehaving 2.0.

Glad that’s over!

So when we were called in to the examination room where the ultrasound was going to be, I went through the various stages of Pandemonium, Havoc and Chaos again, no way they were going to put me on that table. But alas, I am a dog and there were four humans, not an equal fight. So I let it happen, heaving and puffing frantically. They shaved my fur in four places, put jelly on my skin and then they did some ultrasound thing. Resistance is futile.

Nothing serious though, I seem to have this thing with my heart a lot of other large dogs have, a very, very minor heart murmur, Hypoplasia in the left Atrium of the heart and Aorta Stenosis, again, in a very mild form. So nothing to worry about and I may grow old with this. Back home they gave me bits of dried sausage as a treat. Not that I deserved it but hey, the humans love me.
